Who are we?

The Canadian Skating Association is dedicated to the principles of enabling every Canadian to participate in skating throughout their lifetime for fun, fitness and/or achievement. It is:

  • The governing body for skating in Canada
  • A member of the International Skating Union
  • The largest figure skating association in the world with approximately 190,000 members across Canada

Why become a member of SkateCanada?


By belonging to SkateCanada you become part of a national association, with access to the highest quality skating programs in Canada developed and tested nationally. You also have a voice in association matters. Membership has its advantages!

What programs are available?

CanSkate is SkateCanada's learn-to-skate program for people of all ages.

In addition, Skate Canada has a test program which includes tests in skating skills, free skating, dance and artistic skating as well as separate qualifying tests for competitive skating. See our programs page.

 

SkateCanada.ca

  • Provides standards and rules for the activities of its members
  • Qualifies and appoints evaluators, judges, referees and other officials
  • Conduct training for coaches and club administrators
  • Offers a skill-testing program for skaters
  • Conducts competitions for skaters from the learn-to-skate levels through to the International Championships
  • Develops skating programs to Canadians of all ages, skill levels and interests
